It helps promote healthy blood pressure and is known to help with relaxation.

At optimal levels, magnesium also helps boost your mood, improve the quality of your sleep and support the health of your gut. Unfortunately, more than half of Americans are magnesium deficient, perhaps 75 percent, which means that eating magnesium-rich foods should be a real priority for most people. And pumpkin seeds are one of the best sources of multi-purpose mineral, not only because they contain a high concentration of magnesium, but also because they are flexible enough to eat in all kinds of dishes.

“I like to add pumpkin seeds to recipes and snack mixes for friends or visitors with nut allergies,” says Moore. “And you can always season them — I like toast with chili and lime.” Sprinkling pumpkin seeds over salads or toast is also an easy choice, but this is just the beginning.
