In the last few weeks I have been experiencing some rough patches on the side of my chin and jaw. Although these areas are not itchy, they are flaky and have a lighter pigment than the rest of my face, which makes them harder to hide. My first instinct was to exfoliate, because it usually takes care of the uneven texture. But it turns out that this is my skin Really needed the moisturizing powers of the Heritage Store Jelly Face Mask ($ 15).
Unlike some masks I have used in the past, this one really responds to its claims of hydration. Its composition is quite simple, but it has two remarkable ingredients that can help you transform your skin: rose water and hyaluronic acid.

Yes, rose water is more than just a sweet-smelling substance found in some teas or perfumes. It is actually an excellent source of antioxidants and contains many anti-inflammatory properties — both of which are great for reducing redness and irritation. And you also have the aforementioned hyaluronic acid, which has to do with moisturizing and keeping your skin hydrated 24/7. Together they help nourish the skin and give it a feeling of renewal.
And that’s exactly what happened when I tried the mask earlier this week. I was at the end of my wits trying to find something to soften my skin and this mask did it in less than 15 minutes. The formula is light and goes extremely smoothly. It is also white in color and has a creamy texture that my dry skin just soaked immediately. And while some masks may feel tight or crack when dried, this is the complete opposite of this effect. The formula is absorbed into your skin after a few minutes, making it feel cool and firm.
Just a FYI, this formula contains konjac beads. These are small particles in the formula that gently cleanse and exfoliate your skin. At first they make the mask feel a little sandy when you wear it, but it is not irritating at all (at least for me – and I have sensitive skin). In fact, it is the konjac beads that I have to thank for the increased brightness and uniform texture of my skin. Overall, the mask provided enough hydration boost that the rough patches on my skin, especially on my chin, became smoother with each application.
And fortunately, you do not need so much product to see results. I like to use a penny-sized amount, which is good enough to cover my whole face. I rinse after 10 minutes and enjoy the shine. The mask leaves no streaks, just baby’s smooth skin. Others agree.
“The Rosewater Jelly mask is such a wonderful product,” commented one Heritage Store buyer. “From the very first use, the product felt nourishing and refreshing. By removing the mask, my skin felt soft and refreshed. It was a pleasant surprise, as I have very dry skin. I do not follow a specific skin program, so I was excited by “The immediate, positive results of the mask. This is a great addition to any skin care routine.”
Another five-star reviewer also expressed how soft their skin felt afterwards. Not only does it smell great (like the rest of the Rosewater line), but it left my skin feeling so soft and hydrated. “I will buy again as soon as I go out!”
The next time my face is dry, I know where to turn.
