I have always struggled with circles under my eyes that can make me look tired even if I am awake and drinking coffee. Even as a toddler I felt like I was burning the candle at both ends and the first beauty product I made always I bought was a CoverGirl concealer at CVS. And while I’ve been relying on concealer since I’re on the third floor “(also known as I turned 30 – which was a mistake a few years ago), my circles have darkened so I have to use a combination of products to I really do the trick.

I first encountered Tula Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm ($ 28) when I woke up late at night looking at my phone, scrolling through Instagram (which only adds to the whole dark circle state). I have noticed so many different IG influencers go crazy for Tula and sometimes I am skeptical when I notice a ton of influences promoting the same product because of the startups. But I took a risk and clicked “Add to Cart”.

It worked, because there is definitely a reason (or a few reasons) why there is so much buzz around this eye balm. For one, it feels amazing. It has this super soothing and cool feeling like you would by putting cucumber slices in your eyes that gives you plenty of freshness right away.

Each balm comes in a tube that looks like glue, making it easy to apply around the eye, from corner to corner. The stick itself is light blue, but it stays clean and gives off this bright glow that creates the illusion of brighter, more alert eyes. First I passed it to the back of my hand to do a test and even then I could see the glow in my hand. It is so effective that it is not surprising that it is an influential factor and following celebrities — People reported that the little blue stick was spotted in Mandy Moore’s Instagram story earlier this month.

A quick scan of the ingredients tells you why this supreme stick stands out. This sense of coolness and hydration I mentioned above comes from the burst of hyaluronic acid of the balm, a hydration hero loved in the skin and beauty community for its thirsty superpowers. This, along with a stock of aloe vera, apple and watermelon smoothie, is like a cold shower for drowsiness under the eyes.

The other hero ingredient is caffeine, which brightens and tightens even the most creepy skin. You may know that like bilberry – another star on the Tula Brightening & Cooling Eye Balm show – caffeine is packed with antioxidants that add radiance while protecting the skin from free radicals such as sun damage and pollution. This is what makes this balm so popular. The powerful combination of all these ingredients, as well as the probiotics that support the microbiome, give you this instant gratification that breaks the cycle.

Now, know that is not a full coverage makeup product – “brightens” your eyes under the eyes in contrast to the cover, so you will continue to want to use a concealer or a tinted moisturizer if you prefer this look. Alternatively, choose the best of both worlds — the combination of this glowing eye balm and a concealer is one or two punches.

But overall, I agree with Mandy Moore, influencers, and thousands of other happy customers who praise Tula Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm for its convenience, TSA-friendly packaging, and affordable price. I know beauty experts always sing praises for eye cream and talk about how important it is to use a special moisturizer for your eyes, but I (along with other critics) just do not feel that I really notice a difference with most of them. compared to this balm.

“I swear by this thing. I’ve used so many eye creams, moisturizers, everything for dark circles under my eyes. This is my absolute passion. It literally boosts my confidence when I’m not wearing makeup!” writes a critic of Tula. Another claims that it is, “saved” her mornings and has become a key element in her daily life. “I wake up and use it immediately to wake up and take care of my swollen eyes,” he writes. “I’ve been using it for about a year now and I really like what it does to my lower eyes.”

Conclusion? If this product was a song it would be Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake”. It literally wakes my eyes and gives this little boost to my beauty routine that makes the difference.
