As a person with acne prone skin, I can not imagine a skin care routine without it Vitamin C. First, it helps protect my skin from free radical damage. Both, it’s one of the few skin-approved ingredients that does not break out and helps fade my scars from hyperpigmentation. But as transformative as this ingredient is for my beauty figure, it was difficult to find a solution that is both economical and effective. That is, until I discovered Olay Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Serum ($ 30).

Although I tried the serum for a little less than three weeks, it completely changed the game in balancing my skin. A huge part of this has to do with the accumulated serum formula, which contains a powerful blend of vitamin C (for brightness), vitamin B3 (for hydration) and lactic acid (for increased cell cycle). In addition, it contains peptideswhich are amino acids that help stimulate collagen production so that your skin has a firmer, smoother and firmer appearance.

The serum fell last year along with the rest of Olay’s new Vitamin C + Peptide 24 collection, which also includes a moisturizer, eye cream and cleanser if you want to try a new, fast-moving routine.

One of the first things I noticed was the texture of the serum. While most serums are extremely smooth and oily in nature, this serum looks more like a moisturizer. Do not misunderstand me, it is still thin and penetrates easily into your skin. But like a good water-based moisturizer, it leaves your skin cool and supple afterwards, instead of oily. Also, the formula is quite light, so you do not have to worry about clogging your pores.

In recent weeks, I have been using the serum at night and after my moisturizer. I was really hoping to see some improvement around my cheeks, where I have some dark spots – and that’s exactly what I got. Admittedly, the improvement has been quite subtle (so far), but the win is still a win in my book. In addition, it did not cause an outbreak or irritation of my skin. Just know that the formula has a fairly mild citrus scent, something to keep in mind if you have sensitive skin or are prone to irritation.

Overall, the formula is extremely moisturizing and gives your skin a radiant glow. So, if you want to add vitamin C to your skin care treatment without breaking the bank, this is one you should add to your cart.
